The Four Paths
Every turtle walks a path. The path decides how high its share can climb, whether the share survives a sale, and whether the turtle can be destroyed.
| Path | Ceiling | How you get it |
|---|---|---|
| Pristine | 12.00 | the default, never merged |
| Forged | 9.00 | put another turtle through the forge |
| Legendary | 15.00 | the seven, ids #1 to #7 |
| Champion | 13.00 | earned in the arena, nowhere else |
Read those ceilings off capOf(path) on the collection contract.
Pristine
The turtle that was never merged. It climbs slowly, on time alone, and it climbs higher than anything except a Legendary.
It has one weakness, and it is the oldest rule in the collection. Sell a Pristine turtle before it reaches 12.00 and its share resets to 1.00 for the new owner. The clock starts over.
Once it touches 12.00 the share locks in. From that moment it can be sold, traded, sent anywhere, and the full share goes with it, permanently.
Forged
The turtle that ate others to get where it is.
It arrives fast and it pays for that with the lowest ceiling in the game. Once a turtle is Forged there is no path back to Pristine.
In exchange its share is permanent from the first day. Transfer it, sell it, trade it, it keeps every share it has.
Legendary
The seven. Hand made, one of a kind, ids #1 to #7.
They sit above everything at 15.00, they never reset on transfer, they cannot be put through the forge as survivor or as fuel, and as you will see in the arena, they are the only turtles that can never be taken apart.
Champion
The new one, and the only path you cannot mint, buy or merge your way into.
A turtle becomes a Champion when 90% of the shares it is carrying were won in the arena rather than grown or merged. It is a public record of how the turtle got where it is.
The ceiling rises to 13.00 to say so.
Shares survive a sale on three paths out of four
Only an unmaxed Pristine resets its share when it changes hands. Forged, Legendary, Champion and any maxed Pristine all carry their full share to the new owner. This is the only place a sale costs you anything, and it stops the moment you reach the ceiling.
